Sewer Policy

  1. A  sewer impact fee of $500.00 will be charged on all new sewer connections within the Town of Thatcher Sewer system. A $1000.00 sewer tap fee will be charged for all new sewer taps made by Town personnel.
  2. The customer will then pay the appropriate monthly fee based on current sewer charges.
  3. Customers that had previously paid the $850.00 connection fee in the Daley Estates area will be charged the appropriate monthly sewer charge on beginning on January 1, 2001.
  4. Sewer payments are due on the 10th and delinquent on the last day of the month.  If not paid by the last day of the month a $1.00 late fee will be added to the bill.  If after 90 days the bill has not been paid in full the Town will send a letter to the customer in question requesting that the bill be paid in full.

    If the customer does not respond to the delinquent letter a claim will be filed in the small claims court or a claim will be filed with a collection agency.  Once a judgment is received it will be recorded in the Graham County Recorders Office and a lien will be placed on the property and the customer's wages may be garnished.

    The above is subject to the discretion of the Town Manager.
  5. The monthly sewer fees for the Town of Thatcher are as follows:
Residential   $7.50
Apartments $7.50 per apartment
Retail-Wholesale $7.50 - 7500 sq ft or less
$15.00 - 7501 - 20,000 sq ft
$25.00 - 20,001 sq ft or more
Service Stations $7.50
Motels/Hotels $7.50 plus $1.50 per room
Restaurants & Bars $25.00
Trailer Courts $7.50 per trailer
Professional Office $7.50
Churches & Clubs $7.50
Car Washes and Laundries $25.00
Colleges Based on the previous year's enrollment ($0.10 per full time student and $0.05 per part time student per month) and a charge of $1.25 per student per month for the capacity of the dormitories.  The fee will be divided into equal monthly charges.
Schools Based on the previous year's enrollment ($0.10 per student per month) and a flat fee of $25.00 per month for the 3 summer months.  The fee will be divided into equal monthly charges.
