The Town of
The Town began the current update effort in early 2007 when the Town Council adopted a Public Participation Program for updating the General Plan. The attached document is the product of this planning process. The General Plan Update was prepared to meet the legal mandates of Growing Smarter/Growing Smarter Plus legislation as well as meet the policy needs and objectives of the community. Public workshops, advisory committee meetings and informal surveys in the community have been used as basic input in formulating the Plan.
Once adopted by the Town Council, the General Plan will become the official policy statement of the Town to guide both public and private investment in the physical development of the community in a manner that creates maximum social and economic benefits for the citizens of Thatcher.
This 60-Day Review Draft is available for any interested party to review and comment. Review copies will be located at the Thatcher Town Hall, the Eastern Arizona College Library, and at the SouthEastern Arizona Governments Organization (SEAGO) offices in Bisbee. An electronic copy will be posted on the Town’s website at www.thatcheraz.com under the General Plan Update link.
